Type only part of the name (e.g. amox instead of amoxicillin). Medication spelling is not always phonetic!

Select the “Include ‘obsolete’ drugs” check box. This will bring up medications by their old name. Manufacturers sometimes discontinue medications, especially when the generic formula is released. An example of this is the name-brand medication Flexeril. When you search for Flexeril without the Include Obsolete Drugs checked, you get no results.

Warning: prescribing an obsolete drug may result in the pharmacy not accepting the prescription.
